Riders must be able to endure strong side to side and back and forth motions. The ride is formally called “Afterburner” by KMG with Fire Ball being one of the more popular stock themes for the ride. Riders must sit upright, be restrained in a small space by a lap bar and hold onto the lap bar during the ride. The ride's manufacturer blamed the accident on a rusted steel arm that held the carriage. Fire Ball is not the official name of this ride. Lambert was 18 when a carriage on the Fire Ball ride broke apart and slammed onto the midway.
